Paper Submission Format

 

Papers need to be submitted in Adobe Acrobat PDF format via e-mail to the conference e-mail address: cibec06@k-space.org. Papers that have already been accepted or are currently under review at other conferences will not be considered for publication at CIBEC'06. Papers must be written in English and should be limited to a maximum of 4 pages in the IEEE 2-column format (see the IEEE conference Proceedings submission standard and Author Guidelines at http://www.ieee.org/portal/pages/pubs/confstandards/index.html). The papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee on the basis of technical quality, relevance, originality, significance, and clarity.

 

Sample Manuscript and Detailed Format Guidelines   

 

For more detailed information about formatting, authors can download a sample manuscript in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat (PDF) formats at: WordSample and PDFSample. The regular paper submission page limit is 4 pages and for invited talks it is 8-pages. Extra-page charges apply to pages beyond the 4th page at a rate of $50/page. Please contact the conference for any further questions regarding the format.

 

Reviews    New!

 

The text reviews of accepted manuscripts will be compiled and sent to contact authors at least 15 days before the final manuscript submission deadline. The review form used by CIBEC'06 reviewers (at least 3 reviewers per manuscript) contains both scoring and text comment fields. If the text comment fields do not contain information directed to the author, nothing will be sent to the authors and the original submission should be sufficient. So, if the authors do not receive comments, they should feel free to submit their final manuscripts. The submitted final manuscripts will be checked by the proceedings production management for format and a confirmation will be sent to the contact author along with the copyright form to be signed and sent by fax (or scanned and sent by e-mail) to the conference.

 

Conference Proceedings

 

The Conference Proceedings will be published on a CD-ROM. No paper hardcopies will be available. The abstracts and full-text manuscripts will be searchable through IEEE Xplore.

 

Paper Categories

1. Regular papers representing original research by the authors that has not been published before. Submission in this category is open to all.
2. Review papers representing a comprehensive survey of the state of the art in an area closely related to biomedical engineering and its applications. Invited speakers representing experts in their respective fields may submit review papers. Also, experts in related fields are encourage to submit review papers enhancing the understanding of their respective fields.
3. Student papers representing practical projects and pilot studies conducted mainly by an undergraduate/graduate students.

Review Process

The review process will be conducted in a double-blinded manner by the Scientific Program Committee members. Each submitted manuscript will be scored by at least 3 referees.

Best Paper Award Competition

CIBEC'06 is pleased to offer the following awards for outstanding contributions submitted and presented at the conference:

1. Best Regular Paper Award: (L.E. 1000)
2. Best Student Paper Award (L.E. 500)

In each of these categories, three finalists will be announced prior to the conference start. The first author of each of the three finalists will automatically receive a free conference registration. The selection of the winner will be made by voting among the Scientific Program Committee members after all presentations have been given.
